SMART backs commitment to effective use of technology in education with Platinum sponsorship
Calgary, AB – May 14, 2004 – SMART Technologies Inc. announces its sponsorship of EduComm, the new annual conference on education technology taking place June 9 –11 at Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, GA. Running alongside InfoComm 2004, one of the most significant trade shows for the audiovisual (AV) industry, EduComm offers more than 30 sessions on topics relevant to planners and buyers of AV communications and presentation systems in both K–12 and higher education institutions. Session topics range from Buying the Right Equipment and Creating a Distance-Learning Program to Building a Collaborative Community of Technology-Using Faculty and Putting Together ‘Smart’ Campuses. The conference is produced by Professional Media Group, publisher of District Administration and University Business magazines.
More than 100,000 classrooms around the world use SMART Board™ interactive whiteboards. SMART routinely implements customer suggestions for new features and products. Educators also visit SMART’s offices to work directly with its product management and product development teams. EDCompass™, SMART’s online community for educators, was launched one year ago to offer a forum for educators to share new and innovative ways to use SMART products in their classrooms and lecture halls, as well as to provide learning resources for immediate classroom use.
